Profile of the successful candidate

  • You will lead a team of ~5 product developers working on our new realtime IoT portal;

  • You have front-end HTML, CSS, Javascript coding skills and a working knowledge of tableau to actively develop the portal with the team;

  • You are able to develop a deep understanding of our clients, their sites and their needs;

  • You have expert design skills and are focused on delivering a clean and intuitive user experience for customers;

  • You have great communication skills; a leader and team player able to motivate your team as well as communicate with senior management;

  • Your ability to organise the team and deliver on time and on-budget;

  • You understand the strategic vision for the product and the company;

  • You build real relationships with clients - interactions with Atmo should be;

  • You are determined and personally care - you work to make things right first time and lead by example;

Skills we are looking for

As Product Development Manager, you will have primary responsibility for the design and build of our next-gen environmental data and asset management platform, using IoT sensors to provide realtime data to clients.

You are able to identify opportunities for hardware applications and contribute to our wider service offering. You will also be responsible for creating a peerless client experience with our new product.

As part of a tech start-up, you will need to wear multiple hats and demonstrate a strong motivation towards our mission.

In particular:

  • IoT sensor communications;

  • Experience with UX/UI design tools;

  • Bring HTML, CSS and Javascript skills;

  • You will be working with back-end developers. As a bonus, you will have a working knowledge of Django, python, SQL;

  • You fully buy-into reinforcing Atmo’s positive company culture;

  • Experience with Tableau, Python and SQL (desired but not essential);

  • Knowledge of system architecture for IoT (desired but not essential).

Key responsibilities

As a Product Developer, you will primarily be:

  • Leading the product build team, with responsibility for the latest version of our online portal / dashboard, showing real-time IoT data to clients;

  • Developing the next generation of our product and supporting client projects;

  • Managing front-end design working in HTML, CSS and Javascript;

  • UX - improving all user interfaces with Atmo;

  • Provide regular updates, reporting directly to the senior leadership team.

Problem - Health Hazard

Industry has scant data on their working environments and is coming under increasing scrutiny given that 12,500 people die every year in the UK from poor air quality at work.

Companies are legally obliged to protect their staff by the HSE (Health & Safety Executive) and manage their environment (Environment Agency).

Solution – Monitor sites, solve problems

IoT particulates & noise sensors, allowing for a dense sensor mesh Portal shows site schematics, changes over time and KPIs (analytics and AI / ML elements).

Where we work

Bristol based - with clients around the UK.

We embrace flexible working, especially given the current circumstances. However, it will be required of you to occasionally join us in client site visits and team meetings (COVID restrictions permitting).

Who we work with

Atmo work with large industrial clients to understand air quality on-site and subsequently help protect staff from exposure and minimise emissions to the wider environment.

These include, for example: ports, rail & construction sites.
